Loemax
Loemax live in Adelaide. So far they’ve played a weighty handful of shows to audiences that crowd in and gasp for air, not daring to leave, or to a room of 6 on their way home from the factory on a Friday night. Like everything with this band there is no in between, no middle ground, no halfway. All for one or none at all.
Gabe, Brugh and Kam went to school together, playing together as Marvin. They endured a couple of line up changes, a second guitarist, and broke up when school did. They reformed in 2002 under the banner of Loemax with the intention of adopting a new musical style, to write songs that are both melodic and lyrical, that draw inspiration from diverse elements of bands like At the Drive In, Hendrix, Deftones, Big Heavy Stuff and Tool amongst others.
Loemax play rock music. But it is rock music that sounds like you left your favourite record in the backseat of the Kingswood in the middle of January, then played it half speed on the turntable. It’s brittle and fragile, then it has one of your legs and its pulling you under as fast as it can. Moreover it’s smart. There’s a lot of thought, consideration and late nights in this. If your listening, you’ll hear it.
