ARTIST'S STATEMENT
"Within these bodies of works I have explored textiles as a medium, which was a new concept for me as I was originally a painting major. I have also examined the themes of vandalism (in particular that of paintings), deception, and hidden meaning. That which we first perceive something to be, may not be what it is at all. Through a more careful reading, the true meaning of the pieces may be revealed to the viewer gradually. The viewer may form their own interpretation of the works, rather than having it laid out for them." Gina Leonello, 2005
