Visual ArtsLisa PicciauLisa Picciau is a 22 year-old emerging photo-artist based in Adelaide. Graduating from her Honours Degree in 2004 at the South Australian School of Art (SASA), she has since become a staff member at the SASA, as a lecturer for first year students, and also as a technition in the photography studio. Her most recent exhibition is 'Victim of Love' which is currently showing @ Higher Ground Inc from the 7th-30th of July. Last year Lisa exhibited in Polar , an exhibition of five photographic artists from SASA at Avalon Gallery in March 2005. Lisa's work was also exhibited as part of The Last Picture Show and Fin de Siecle , the SASA Visual and Applied Arts Graduate Exhibitions in 2003 & 2004 and Boxed, the SASA Honours Exhibition in 2004. Lisa also participated in the 20 x 20 Portraiture exhibition, University of South Australia in 2002, 2003 & 2004, and was featured in Breakaway , the Year 12 Visual Arts Showcase at the Art Gallery of South Australia in 2002. Some of Lisa's other achievements also include places on the Deans Merit list in 2001, 2002 & 2003 and the Chancellors Merit list in 2003 for finishing in the top 15% of Undergraduate studies. Lisa was also awarded the Photographic Wholesalers Award in 2003 for the most outstanding achievement by a graduating photography student.As well as maintaining her art practice, Lisa enjoys working in all aspects of the arts and has had much experience curating and organising art exhibitions during her time at the SASA, which includes the SASA Graduation exhibition in 2003, and the SASA Honours exhibition in 2004. More recently, Lisa has also completed an internship at the Adelaide City Council in 2004-2005 completing the Public Art Online Database, cataloguing all of the Public Art works located in the city of Adelaide, and be found on the council website. Lisa has also exhibited as part of Carclew's Fifth Floor project. Lisa?s work continues to explore ideas surrounding family, memory, childhood and the feminine as both a way to evaluate our presence in the 21st century and also as a means of documenting of our lives. | ||
