Jason Fischer was the 2005 recipient of the Colin Thiele Literature Scholarship. The Scholarship allowed Jason to complete his science fiction novel Tusk.

Jason has been writing for a many years, initially as a poet and a playwright and achieved publication a few times as a teenager in various anthologies and wrote plays for production in high school. Abandoning verse a few years ago, he is now concentrating on writing fiction. 2004 has seen Jason begin to have his short stories published and is heavily involved in the Adelaide writing scene.

Jason says “ I combine a solid work ethic with a professional attitude towards my craft, and believe that Adelaide is the forefront of a new wave of speculative authors. I intend to be the next to join the ranks of Fiona McIntosh, Sean Williams and Tony Shillitoe!”
