ARTIST'S STATEMENT
It’s like at first I didn’t notice, this slight change of scenery. The sky was still a bold blue, and the rain still gathered in puddles on the ground. It was more the details that were overlooked. The continuous gardens…no longer there. Nor the rolling hills. In its place an endless ocean… and rows of cars parked on my doorstep. My old doorstep had flowers and grass, leaves and trees. Not a dirt patch, where the hundreds of people walking by throw their rubbish. There is a cool salty breeze that freshens the overheated house, a shell or two. There are still pine trees here. They just look different.
