CALL FOR ENTRIES - Springboard: Entrepreneurship for Australian Designers

Springboard is calling for entries for an exciting new design mentoring program. The 12 month initiative will enable 100 of Australia’s most promising furniture, textiles, accessories and homewares designers to develop their professional careers in local and international markets. The program encompasses two stages of valuable training, delivered though workshops and one-to-one mentorship. Stage One workshops commence on 31 March 2008 with participants developing their individual design practice with the guidance of six leading business professionals. The program will cover sustainable best practice, financial management, contractual law, media relations, IP, manufacturing process, retail and export strategy. Mentors include eco-design specialist John Gertsakis, former brand consultant for Apple Computer Europe Bradford Gorman and guest mentor Liane Rossler, the cofounder of Dinosaur Designs.
