Binge Drinking has been identified as a significant issue throughout South Australia. The YWCA are running a film competition called ‘Shooting from the Hipflask’ which aims to engage young people in highlighting issues, concerns and strategies to address binge drinking. The winning film clip will be utilized by the YWCA in a viral campaign.

The competition – ‘Shooting from the Hipflask’ is open to all young people aged between 12 – 25 living in South Australia. Registration is free. This is a great opportunity to showcase your film making skills and be in the draw for some great cash prizes worth up to $4000.

Entries can explore any aspect of binge drinking. Video clips could be filmed from a personal perspective, as an onlooker, or explore certain themes related to binge drinking such as looking after friends who have drunk too much, or how you feel after binge drinking.  The film clip can be in any genre, e.g. animation, using still photos, documentary, vox pop - the only limit is your imagination.

Each video clip should be up to 3 minutes long.

There are two awards, one determined by a panel of judges and one determined by popular vote - all entries can be viewed on the myspace page after the competition closing date and a “People’s Choice” award will be given to the highest voted video clip.

With prizes of $4,000 up for grabs, this is a great chance to be creative, share a message and have a lot of fun. Please click on the following link to download an entry pack www.myspace.com/shootingfromthehipflask
