PROJECT: ‘Sowing the Circus Seeds’ – a circus performance project.

Aims:
• For the students to experience and learn a variety of circus skills.
• For students to be involved in a production using these new-found skills.

The students were involved in a series of four workshops based on learning circus skills. The students were also involved in discussions as to how they were going to use their skills as part of a production to be held in Term 3.

Outcomes:
Students gained confidence in performing a variety of circus ‘tricks’. Through this the students gained and increased confidence in their physical capabilities.

The highlights of the project were the Year 6 children performing to the local kindergarten. Some very good reflective journals were also written by many of the students. Many of the students also reported that they were enjoying practicing their circus skills at home.

‘Tara was outstanding and has given both the students and staff skills and confidence in circus style performance.’ Teacher

250 students were involved in this animation/film project.
