Carclew Youth Arts Centre

DVFM

D.V.F.M. is an established 'best practice model' of youth arts activity that engages regional young people in an intensive and supported program of performing arts.

Under the creative guidance of a team of professional performance artists, young people are encouraged to share their ideas and stories in a safe, creative way. D.V.F.M. is an acronym for the various art forms and methods that are used:

  • D = Dance; Drama; Dialogue; Digital
  • V = Voice; Vox-pop; Video; Vision
  • F = Film; Funk; Form; Fusion
  • M = Music; Motion; Method; Media.

The result is a unique multi-arts public performance showcasing newly developed skills and innate talents within a fully resourced and professionally supported program.

D.V.F.M. 2006 was a site-specific piece exploring the concepts of 'TRAPPED' and 'FREEDOM' and performed by talented young people from the midlands region and the lower midnorth of South Australia. The young people partcipating in this project worked alongside some of our state's most outstanding professional performing-arts practitioners (in theatre, dance, music and film) and developed skills and artistic sensitivities required for sharing their dreams and hopes to the broader community.

Watch out for Stage One of D.V.F.M.  2007 due to take place from April to May in the Mount Barker to Murray Bridge area.
