Technical Work Experience

Young people are able to engage in practical hands on experience in all aspects of technical theatre production.

The Odeon Theatre Work Experience Program not only accepts Secondary and Tertiary
students but is also available to volunteer workers between 15 to 26years of age. Priority is given to applicants from outer metropolitan and country areas, with a maximum of 2 students participating per week.

We offer work experience in all facets of technical theatre and office duties involved in the day to day running of South Australia’s busiest live theatre venue. There is also the opportunity to work with the hiring companies director, designer, or stage manager and contribute to their production by assisting with props, scenery or lighting and sound operation. Work experience in technical theatre production is suited to people with (or with a very keen interest to develop) handy person skills, industrial/trade skills and an overall interest in the application of technology in live theatre production.
