The Open House Program engages the community with Carclew as a venue. It provides people with easy access to arts workshops, exhibitions and performances, showcasing the artistic talent and work of children and young people in the Home of Youth arts.
Carclew's Holiday Program
The Holiday Program is one of Carclew’s longest running and most loved projects. Led by professional artists along side emerging artists the Holiday Program provides an exceptional program of arts workshops, incorporating a broad range of culturally diverse and inclusive arts activities held during each school holiday period. Workshops are run for children and young people aged between 5-16. The program includes Digital artforms, Dance, Visual Arts, Film Making, Performing Arts, Music, Indigenous Arts and Culture. Workshops range from two hours up to weeklong.

I started my history with Carclew as a visual arts practitioner. I was awarded the Ruth Tuck Scholarship in 2004 which allowed me to undertake a residency in New York City. I have worked and volunteered for Come Out Festival , Adelaide Fringe Festival and the Howl festival in NYC and various art projects in Adelaide.I have an Honours Degree in Visual Art and have recently completed a postgraduate degree in Arts and Cultural Management at Uni SA.
Ella Pak Poy, Holiday Program Project Coordinator;
Ella Pak Poy started her long history with Carclew as a work experience student. Since then Ella has volunteered for Womad, the Holiday Program and Off the Couch for many years before becoming employed as a tutors assistant on our workshop program. She brings with her a kind heart, great smile and love of working with young people in the arts. Her experience is key to making this team brilliant.
Astrid Innes, Arts Administration Trainee;
Astrid Innes has for many years volunteered for Country Arts SA in the Riverland, The Aids Council of South Australia and The Strathmont Disability Community. She has performed as both a dancer and an actress. With a family history in the arts, both within South Australia and abroad, Astrid is well equipped with a great knowledge of the arts. She brings with her to Carclew her bubbly personality and a bright smile. When booking in for the Holiday Program come and say hello to Astrid.
