Digital Sites - A Digital Media Public Art Project

Digital Sites brought digital art into the urban environment with temporary, site-specific digital public artworks created and exhibited in spaces around Adelaide.

Artists 26 years of age and under were invited to submit a brief application to be considered for a place within the project.  Eight successful applicants were employed to create ephemeral public artworks using a variety of digital media platforms.

Each of the artists were matched with established mentors during the period of the project, who supported them in working to a commissioning brief, undertaking consultation with the commissioning client, presenting concepts for approval, meeting deadlines, and working within a budget.

Digital Sites followed the successful model of Carclew's City Sites project in providing employment and mentorship opportunities for South Australian public artists, and was created in partnership with the Department for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure.
