ACTIVE8 ARTS - Premiers Youth ChallengeThe active8 Arts program was jointly developed by Carclew Youth Arts and the Office for Youth to offer arts development and volunteering opportunities for young people in Years 7–12 at school. Active8 Arts aims to promote self-reliance, self-confidence, leadership, teamwork and community service. Participants develop a range of skills and experience a diverse range of arts activities, which are not only beneficial to the young people but also to the wider community. As a service provider, Carclew Youth Arts assists host organisations to run arts-based projects in their community and provides assistance to gain skills and experience in four key areas: Event Management, Production, Performance and Team work. As of 31/6/06 Ceduna Area School, Heathfield High School, Ocean View College and Tyndale Christian School ended their agreement with Carclew and continued their active8 programs under other service providers. Carclew Youth Arts ended its long association with the active8 Arts program at the end of June 2007 after many rewarding years. The organisation wishes all of the schools it has been associated with over the years the very best with their arts programs into the future and encourages other schools to take up this excellent opportunity to collaborate with community partners through the arts.
