The Odeon is Australia’s premier performance venue dedicated to Children and Young People. Launched in 1986 the Odeon has provided artistic and production opportunities for thousands of young South Australians and is loved by the Adelaide community.

Practical work experience in a real live theatre!
Do you want to take part in the most exciting work experience around? The Odeon Theatre Work Experience Program is aimed at Secondary and Tertiary students but is also available to volunteer workers between 15 to 26 years of age.
Remember that you will be part of a real theatre production team in an unreal theatre and may be working totally different hours than your classmates and friends. You may be required to work in the evenings (up to 11pm at the latest). A work experience placement in this area involves assisting or observing the theatre staff as they:
- Set up or strike the lighting, sound and staging equipment used in live theatre productions.
- Train the hirers performance staff in the operation and use of the Odeon Theatre’s equipment and facilities to enable their production to be presented in a highly professional manner
- Carry out general maintenance of the theatre and its equipment.
- Perform general reception duties including answering the phone and taking messages.
