Odeon Theatre Artist ResidencyCarclew's Odeon Theatre, based in Norwood, is the only performing arts facility in South Australia dedicated to children and young people. The venue provides opportunities for performances for, with and by young people, technical work experience, school performances and workshops, a gallery space and rehearsal space for young emerging (and other) artists. Artist ResidencyIn 2007/08, for the first time, the Odeon offered an opportunity to an artist creating new work for young audiences to base themselves at the venue for a period of 12 months. This enabled the artist to have access, when available, to rehearsal and office space at no or minimal cost. Expressions of InterestExpressions of Interest are now open from performing artists or small companies (this can include cooperatives) who are looking for an opportunity to access a facility to assist them in the coming year. The Residency is open to artists from all performing arts-based practice and those with dance at the heart of their work are strongly encouraged. The J150 Rehearsal Room is an ideal space for all performing arts and has mirrors, dance floor and bars. It also has seating for up to 70 for small performances or showings. A small office space can also be made available and arrangements for email access can be negotiated. There is no phone available. Priority will be given to young and emerging artists but those creating new work for young audiences may also apply. CONTACTPlease contact Leigh Mangin at the Odeon Theatre on 08 8333 3400 if you would like more information or to submit an Expression of Interest.
